With a licensed capacity of 28,000 head, access to an extensive network of quality cattle and ideally placed between the Riverina & Beef City plants, Caroona is a vital asset in the supply of grain fed cattle for both the JBS Queensland and New South Wales based processing facilities. The farm supplies the grain, silage and hay required for the cattle in the feedlot.

About the Role

JBS Australia’s Caroona Feedlot are currently seeking a reliable Machinery Operator to join the team on a full-time basis. An integral part of our feedlot operations, the Maintenance Team manages the pen environment for cattle to optimise animal welfare and performance, this includes vehicle and equipment operation and maintenance, as well as improvements to pens, laneways and infrastructure. The pen cleaning team’s role is to manage manure and optimise the pen environment for cattle. They are also involved in organising manure storage, processing and dispatch for use as a feedlot by-product.

 

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting safe working practices in accordance with the workplace health and safety act and company policies
  • Completing all allocated manure and farming tasks, along with assisting in maintenance tasks
  • Working in conjunction with Animal Health Team
  • Operating machinery (e.g. loaders, high lift buckets, screening plant and pen scrapers)
  • General site hygiene control
  • Ensuring compliance with all HR, WHS, and Animal Welfare and Environmental obligations
