The feedlot has a capacity of 28,000+ head and employs approximately 40 team members. The feedlot includes a dryland and irrigation farming operation which supplies the grain, silage and hay required for the cattle in the feedlot.

About the Role
The JBS Caroona Feedlot is currently recruiting an experienced Machinery Operator to join the team in a full-time capacity. Reporting to the Leading Hand, this role works closely with the Maintenance team to ensure the daily upkeep of the entire feedlot which includes vehicle and equipment operation and maintenance as well as improvements to pens, laneways and infrastructure. The pen cleaning team’s role is to manage manure and optimise the pen environment for cattle. They are also involved in organising manure storage, processing and dispatch for use as a feedlot by-product.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting safe working practices in accordance with the workplace health and safety act and company policies
- Completing all allocated manure and farming tasks, as well as assisting maintenance tasks
- Working with the Animal Health team
- Operating machinery including loaders, high lift buckets, screening plant and pen scrapers
- General site hygiene control
- Ensuring compliance with all HR, WHS, and Animal Welfare and Environmental obligations
