With a licensed capacity of 28,000 head, access to an extensive network of quality cattle and ideally placed between the Riverina & Beef City plants, Caroona is a vital asset in the supply of grain fed cattle for both the JBS Queensland and New South Wales based processing facilities. The farm supplies the grain, silage and hay required for the cattle in the feedlot.

About the Role
JBS Australia’s Caroona Feedlot is currently seeking a reliable Livestock Induction Hand to join our Livestock team on a full-time basis. We are looking for passionate cattle handlers who are skilled in, or wish to further develop their cattle handling and cattle treatment skills. You will be responsible for inducting cattle into the feedlot and administering animal health products.
Reporting to the Induction Leading Hand and Foreperson, competent Induction Hands are integral to livestock operations. This position will require someone who can follow procedures and work effectively as part of a team. Successful applicants will be a part of an industry leading team that is determined and efficient.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Follow JBS Australia policies and procedures, including safety, quality assurance and animal welfare.
- Use low stress stock handling techniques.
- Operate gates and crush.
- Administer and maintain records of animal health treatments.
- Willingness to learn how to use JBS systems to manage induction and treatment records.
About You
- Cattle handling experience
- An understanding of cattle and low stress stock handling
- Ability to identify cattle types/breeds advantageous
- Basic computer skills
- Experience working as part of a team
