About the Role

Primo Foods are on the hunt for a Senior Innovation Product Developer to join the team either in Chullora, Sydney or Wacol, Brisbane. This hands-on role helps drive the technical development and implementation of Primo’s New Product Development Innovation strategy.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Working closely with the cross functional team, including Operations, Sales, Engineering, Purchasing, and Marketing to develop the Primo portfolio;
• Hands-on development of new products from ideation to commercialisation, ensuring that all technical documentation is completed and commercial targets are met
• Ensuring all product development aspects are complete on time in full for all innovation projects to ensure approval through the stage gate process
• Keeping abreast of food trends, and innovation within the food industry to build knowledge for future product development projects.
• Prioritising work schedule to ensure that tasks are completed within agreed timeframes
• Ensuring legal and regulatory compliance is maintained across all processes, ingredients and labelling within the New Product Development lifecycle
• Providing support to junior members of the team on technical and project related matters
• Assisting the Head of Consumer Innovation R&D in continuously improving product development processes

About you:

• Bachelors Degree in Food Science and Technology or similar
• Strong and previous experience working in a food product development role
• Previous experience in managing direct reports is well regarded but not essential
• The ability to lead and work autonomously on complex projects
• Ability to deal with ambiguity
• Knowledge of FSANZ legal requirements
• Comfortable in a hands-on role working with meat and smallgoods equipment to develop products in pilot plant and factory environment
• Strong interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills
• Computer literacy, including Intermediate level of MS Excel
• Approachable and enthusiastic
• Flexible and adaptable
