About the Role:

Primo Foods has a great opportunity for a WHS Coordinator to join the team and work across our two sites in McRoyle Street and Production Street in Wacol. This is a crucial role for our Safety team as it contributes to the development of a culture that promotes the wellbeing of all staff through appropriate WHS and Training & Development. In this role, you’ll provide direct support to operations, maintenance, contractors and quality teams as well as be a key user of the safety management system.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Conduct investigations for Injuries, Near Misses or Hazards
  • Follow through on actions from investigations
  • Engage employees and appropriate mangers when conducting investigations
  • Ensure WHS Committee meetings are held and attend by nominated personal including management
  • Ensure compliance with the JBS Health and Safety Management System
  • Review any updates to Standards, Codes of Practice, WHS Act and WHS Regulations to ensure our sites are compliant
  • Participate in internal, external and Stakeholder Audits ensuring site maintains compliance and implement any changes
  • Effectively build trust and collaborate with management, HR, teams and partners to transfer knowledge and skills
  • Promote safety culture and awareness
  • Complete Risk Assessments for all plant and machinery on site
  • Complete Standard Operating Procedures for all process, plant and machinery on site
  • Ensure Risk Assessments & Standard Operating Procedures are regularly reviewed for accuracy
  • Be a key user for all WHS systems, policies and processes
  • Maintenance of training, daily safety checks and Tool Box records and meeting minutes
  • Generate and maintain reports
  • Ensure all contractors under take Site Safety Induction prior to the commencement of works
  • Ensure all new employees complete the Site Safety Induction

 

About you:

  • Formal qualifications in WH&S are essential
  • Knowledge of manufacturing hazards ideally within a food manufacturing environment
  • Strong communication skills with an emphasis on excellent listening and interaction skills
  • Good conflict resolution skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work well under deadlines and pressure
  • Able to work on own initiative and as a team player
  • Good organisational skills with cultural awareness and sensitivity
  • Passionate about safety and people
