About the Role

Primo Foods are recruiting for a Mechanical Fitter to join the weekend service crew team based in Wacol, Brisbane. Join a leading Brand and provide preventative maintenance support across the packaging production department.

This is a permanent full-time position working 4 days on, 1 day off, 4 days on, 5 days off as 9.5-hour shifts. There are regular overtime opportunities available for shift cover and special project work.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Ensure maximum equipment uptime is achieved by completing effective and efficient mechanical preventative maintenance over the weekend when production is not in operation.
• Communicate to manage day to day tasks, quality, safety issues and escalations to the supervisor/s.
• Problem solve to identify and troubleshoot faults to rectify problems.

About you:

• Mechanical trade qualifications and/or post trade experience; Dual trade qualifications advantageous
• Knowledge in THERMOFORMING packaging machines i.e. MULTIVAC, TIROMAT and SEALPAC
• Knowledge in SLICING machines i.e. WEBER, TREIF, FORMAX and HAJEC
• Experience in maintenance/repair in a fast-paced modern manufacturing environment FMCG
• Pneumatics, welding Mig/Tig and machining experience is advantageous.
• Rebuilding and servicing equipment experience
• Ability to work safely and autonomously in a team environment.
