Payroll Systems Analyst - Roster, Time & Attendance
JBS Australia is seeking a Payroll Systems Analyst - Roster, Time & Attendance (RTA) to play a key role in delivering reliable, compliant, and efficient payroll system solutions across our UKG Pro and SAP Payroll & Time & Attendance platforms.
This is a 12-month contract opportunity supporting one of the largest workforce and payroll transformation projects being undertaken by an employer in Australia. You will have the opportunity to contribute to a high-profile business transformation while helping shape the future state of payroll operations across a complex national organisation. Reporting to the Payroll Systems Lead - RTA, you will be responsible for analysing business requirements, translating them into functional payroll solutions, and supporting testing and system improvements that enhance payroll accuracy, compliance, and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather, analyse and document business requirements, identifying opportunities for process automation and standardisation.
- Develop and execute testing activities, including system integration testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and payroll parallel pay runs.
- Analyse payroll data and system performance to identify risks, trends, and improvement opportunities.
- Investigate, document and resolve payroll system defects and incidents, including root cause analysis.
- Collaborate with Payroll, Industrial Relations, Technology and business stakeholders to support data gathering and knowledge transfer initiatives.
- Maintain business process documentation, functional specifications, test scripts and reports.
- Provide recommendations to improve payroll integrations, compliance, accuracy and efficiency.
- Identify, escalate and support the resolution of operational and system risks.
- Support audit requirements, governance controls and compliance obligations.
- Contribute to the ongoing payroll systems improvement roadmap and uplift of operational best practices.
About You
- Advanced experience with UKG Pro and SAP Payroll & Time & Attendance systems.
- Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation, governance and compliance requirements.
- Experience interpreting and applying complex Enterprise Agreements.
- Background working within large, industrial or unionised environments.
- Demonstrated payroll data analysis and problem-solving capability.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes within deadlines.
- Confident stakeholder manager with the ability to influence across Payroll, IR and Technology teams.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders from frontline leaders through to executive teams.
- Strong documentation and testing experience, including configuration workbooks, test scripts and reporting.
- A structured, detail-oriented and solutions-focused mindset.
- Self-motivated, proactive and passionate about driving continuous system improvement.
