About the Role:

Primo Foods have a great opportunity for an Operations Manager. This role leads the manufacturing operations through effective management of the Wacol team.

 

Your responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Provide leadership and direction for the manufacturing process, ensuring we have the right people and skills to achieve the manufacturing plan in a safe and engaging environment.
  • Lead and develop an efficiency focused manufacturing culture, with supporting programs to gain continual improvements across all divisions
  • Create / improve process control systems, review performance and lead solutions to overcome performance limiting issues
  • Monitor production output costs and adjust processes and resources to ensure optimal planning and cost management. Manage expenditures for equipment, materials and labour, ensuring they are utilised efficiently.
  • Plan future manufacturing programs to obtain maximum value from production resources such as equipment, machines and resource requirements.
  • Monitor procurement effectiveness to ensure materials and consumables are available within required timeframes.
  • Ensure product quality standards are developed and met and we are building a quality mindset across our team members.
  • Ensure the workforce has the appropriate skills and is motivated to perform to current and future growth expectations.
  • Drive KPI’s achievement for department managers, supervisors and the broader support team 
  • Review product mix and make or recommend improvements that will increase customer satisfaction and/or reduce materials/production costs
  • Project manage key projects to timeline and budget expectations with appropriate change management principle adopted to ensure strong collaboration, communication and adoption.
  • Ensure 100% compliance with all policies and procedures

 

About you:

  • 10 + years experience in manufacturing management and leadership roles
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in production and logistics
  • Knowledge of food manufacturing, production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximizing the effective production performance
  • Excellent planning and attention to detail
  • Clear and concise communication skills
  • Full understanding of safety and hygiene regulations and experience building this into behaviours.
  • Demonstrated achievement in productivity, quality and engagement improvement.
  • Lean manufacturing qualifications or implementation experience
  • Knowledge of meat manufacturing operations
  • Experience managing and/or improving cultural change
