Primo is searching for a dynamic, commercially savvy National Field Sales Manager – Independent Retail (Sydney or Melbourne based) to drive the execution of our sales strategy.

In this influential role, you’ll coach and empower a team, partner with key stakeholders, manage key MSO’s and play a pivotal part in accelerating our growth across the Independent Retail landscape.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop and motivate a field sales team to deliver budgeted sales, distribution growth and strong in store execution.
  • Formulate and execute commercial sales plans, optimise pricing and product mix, and enhance channel profitability.
  • Analyse market performance, identify opportunities, and adjust strategies to maximise results across the Independent Retail channel.
  • Drive the successful delivery of NPD launches and marketing programs in partnership with cross functional teams.
  • Build strong relationships with Metcash, MSOs and internal stakeholders across Operations, Supply Chain and Marketing.
  • Champion CRM utilisation (Microsoft Dynamics), route optimisation, compliance, safety culture and operational excellence within the field team.
  • Embed a culture of coaching, accountability and continuous improvement to elevate team capability and performance.

 

 

About You

  • Proven experience leading state or national field sales teams within FMCG, independent retail, manufacturing or distribution environments.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to analyse data, forecast trends and make confident, profitable recommendations.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation and relationship building skills, with a track record of influencing at all levels.
  • Strategic thinker who excels in fast paced environments and can lead effective execution while managing multiple priorities.
  • Highly organised, resilient, self driven and skilled at leading through change while maintaining a strong customer and people focus.
  • Experienced in CRM systems (ideally Microsoft Dynamics) and committed to driving field team engagement and adoption.
