Mechanical Fitter - Afternoon Shift

We are recruiting for a Mechanical Fitter on afternoon shift to join the team at our Wacol facility in the Western Suburbs of Brisbane.  This role works Monday to Friday, starting around 2:30pm-3:30pm and finishing around 11pm with opportunities for overtime which includes weekends.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• To ensure maximum equipment uptime is achieved by providing effective and efficient mechanical preventative and breakdown maintenance.
• Engage in making, fitting or repairing mechanical machines, instruments or appliances.
• Ensure that all mechanical work is carried out to meet the Company safety and housekeeping requirements and conforms to all relevant regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to identify faults with the ability to troubleshoot and rectify problems.
• Providing mechanical support to day shift and afternoon shift as required.
• Other responsibilities that may come up, such as working on projects.

About you:

• Certificate III or above qualifications in hydraulics or pneumatics; and/or
• Certificate IV Engineering Mechanical Special Class; and/or
• Certificate IV Fluid Power (Pneumatics)
• Ability to MIG and TIG Weld Stainless steel highly desired.
• Forklift Ticket highly desired
• Effective and efficient fault finding and diagnostic skills.
• Thorough understanding and knowledge of WHS regulations/procedures.
• Confined Space and BA Competence highly desired.
• Experience in maintenance/repair in a fast-paced modern manufacturing environment FMCG (food experience would be highly regarded although not essential)
