Strategically located in Hemmant near the Port of Brisbane, the JBS Cold Store facility receives a high volume of truck and container loads of product from all the JBS sites around Australia, which are then re-loaded for our domestic and international customer orders and readied for transport. Our Hemmant facility employs approximately 140 team members, operating 5 days per week.

 

About the Role

Our Hemmant Cold Stores leadership team is currently recruiting a Loadout Supervisor to join the afternoon shift team (approx. 2pm to 10pm) in a full-time capacity. Reporting to the Cold Store Manager, you will be responsible for all load-ins, storage and load-outs of chilled and frozen goods (export and domestic product).   

 

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Provide positive leadership, coaching and support in an effort to enhance and improve the culture of the Cold Store
  • Ensure safe systems of work are implemented and maintained
  • Ensure effective communication is maintained with all key stakeholders, both internal and external
  • Organise work sections to ensure strategic and operational objectives and targets are achieved at maximum efficiency
  • Form a team and work effectively with production to develop best practices
  • Ensure all employees are aware of cold stores AA and regulatory procedures
  • Complete all necessary data entry and documentation
  • Ensure all Task Descriptions are up to date and all team members are trained accordingly
  • Investigate all procedural faults and document corrective action to rectify
  • Liaise with maintenance regarding breakdowns or failures to ensure down time is kept to an absolute minimum
  • Maintain good quality control results in cold store
  • Utilise manning to maximise resources and to facilitate smooth operations
  • Plan and coordinate shipping/loadouts to ensure shipping schedules are met and any loadout priorities are met
  • Ensure all criteria in AA program are met and tasks carried out accordingly
  • Ensure corrective action is taken and that procedures are put in place to prevent of non-conformities from recurring
  • Attend Management Meetings
  • Monitor and Control Inventory

 

About You

  • Previous team leader/supervisory experience in a cold store environment advantageous
  • Demonstrated computer literacy in MS Office
  • Ability to respond calmly in difficult situations whilst maintaining a strong customer service focus
  • Exceptional ability to prioritise and multi-task
  • Takes other’s perspectives into consideration
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and within a team environment
  • Energetic, passionate and enthusiastic with a demonstrated focus on system improvement
  • Makes self fully available as required
  • Ability to work overtime as needed operationally
