The JBS Cold Store facility is strategically located in Hemmant near the Brisbane port and employs approximately 140 people. Hemmant receives a high volume of truck and container loads of product from all the JBS sites around Australia, these are then re-loaded for our domestic and international customer’ orders and readied for transport.

 

About the Role

The JBS Hemmant Cold Stores is currently recruiting an experienced Inventory Controller to join the team in a newly created role. As the Inventory Controller, you will be responsible for ensuring all deliveries or returns are loaded/unloaded in a timely and accurate manner. You will ensure all stock ordered is received correctly and discrepant deliveries are accounted for and reported upon appropriately.  

 

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will also be responsible for:

  • Managing inventory activities including establishing new inventory items
  • Managing the pallet account and reconciliation process
  • Reviewing and optimising stock levels
  • Completing monthly stocktakes/counts
  • Assisting with the set-up and review of Material Requirements Planning to optimise efficiency
  • Assisting with the management of inventory in SAP
  • Assisting with the accuracy of the MM (Material Master) database
  • Identifying and assisting with the management of obsolete and slow-moving inventory
  • Ensuring effective issuing controls are in place and are monitored/managed accordingly
  • Assisting with and running appropriate inventory analysis reporting
  • Ensuring that open Purchase Orders are expedited and in combination

 

About You

  • Previous experience in a similar purchasing or inventory management role (ideally 2+ years)
  • Previous experience with SAP Purchasing/Inventory Management and end-to-end processes
  • Experience in managing inventory in an MRP environment
  • Experience with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) on a day-to-day basis
  • Demonstrated purchasing and stock management experience
  • Understanding or awareness of Financial Controls, Major/Minor Capital, Budgeting and Forecasting highly desirable
  • Understanding of the regulatory and legal requirements for Dangerous Goods, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), Food Safety Management System (FSMS) & Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Goods and Services Tax (GST), Occupation Health and Safety (OH&S), and Environmental Management
  • Chain of Responsibility training advantageous
  • Demonstrated computer literacy in excel, word and outlook
  • Ability to respond calmly in difficult situations whilst maintaining a strong customer service focus
  • Exceptional ability to prioritise and multi-task
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and within a team environment
  • Energetic, passionate and enthusiastic with a demonstrated focus on system improvement
