About the Role

Join the D.R. Johnston Group at JBS Australia as a Financial Accountant and help deliver accurate, timely group financial reporting, stronger financial controls, compliance, and ongoing improvement of our finance function.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with site-based and remote teams to ensure consistent reporting processes and financials are in place.
  • Support the development of reporting automation and process improvement initiatives in conjunction with the Finance Managers and the Business Analysis team.
  • Review the financial reporting processes and internal controls throughout the business.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures, SOX, and external audit requirements.
  • Support the planning and delivery of the national group reporting.
  • Coordinate the month-end reporting processes (journal preparation and balance sheet reconciliations).
  • Prepare and deliver corporate reporting and business analysis as required, accurately and on time.
  • Champion the continuous improvement initiatives that improve efficiency, accuracy and business performance.

 

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • 5 + years of experience in financial reporting, audit, internal controls or a related accounting function.
  • Experience working in a SOX environment.
  • Previous experience in a Big 4 or mid-tier accounting firm is a major asset.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work effectively as part of a distributed team.
  • Highly developed organisational and time management skills.
  • CA or CPA qualification (current membership preferred).
