Our Hemmant facility employs approximately 140 team members, operating 5 days per week.

About the Role
Our Hemmant Cold Stores leadership team is currently seeking a proactive Food Safety Quality Assurance (FSQA) Supervisor to join the business in a full-time capacity. In this role, you’ll support the Cold Stores Manager by leading FSQA Officers and ensuring compliance with all food safety, legal, and licensing requirements.
You’ll oversee the implementation and maintenance of our Approved Arrangement (including HACCP), manage audits and certifications, and ensure documentation and monitoring processes meet regulatory and customer standards. This position requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and a commitment to building a capable team while maintaining a positive workplace culture.
About You
- Previous people management experience including developing and leading successful teams
- Sound knowledge and application of HACCP principles
- Competent in report writing covering such requirements as continuous improvement projects, correct action investigation reports
- Strong focus on customer compliant reduction strategies
- Competent in industry regulations and standards such as AUS-MEAT / MSA
- Understanding of The Department website e.g. ELMER, MICoR,
- Competent in customer complaint interrogation and trend analysis
- Internal Audit Certificate
- Demonstrated computer literacy in excel, word and outlook
- Ability to respond calmly in difficult situations whilst maintaining a strong customer service focus
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills with an understanding of Root Cause Analysis
- Conflict and resolution skills including the ability to negotiate and deal with auditors
- Exceptional ability to prioritise and multi-task
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
