FSQA Officer

About the Role

JBS Hemmant Cold Stores is seeking an experienced Food Safety Quality Assurance (FSQA) Officer to join the team in a full-time capacity. Reporting to the Food Safety Supervisor and supporting the Day Shift operation, this role is central to maintaining the highest standards of food safety, quality, hygiene and compliance across our warehouse operations.

In this hands-on position, you will be responsible for monitoring daily pre-operational and operational hygiene programs, ensuring all food safety procedures are consistently followed and accurately documented. You will oversee critical quality assurance activities, including export port-mark load monitoring, E. coli compliance processes, product blast monitoring, and the timely collection and delivery of laboratory samples. Your attention to detail and commitment to quality will help ensure our products continue to meet both customer expectations and regulatory requirements.

Working closely with operational teams, you will analyse monitoring results, compile Certificates of Analysis (COAs) where required, and ensure all records and monitoring documentation are completed accurately and submitted in a timely manner. You will also play an important role in identifying and escalating any deficiencies in approved programs or processing procedures, providing valuable support to continuous improvement initiatives across the site.

As a trusted member of the Food Safety team, you will participate in internal audits, contribute to maintaining compliance standards, and support site management with a variety of food safety and quality-related activities.

 The JBS Cold Store facility is strategically located in Hemmant near the Brisbane port and employs approximately 180 people. Hemmant receives a high volume of truck and container loads of product from all the JBS sites around Australia, these are then re-loaded for our domestic and international customer’ orders and readied for transport.
