Engineering Manager
About the Role
Primo Foods have an exciting opportunity available for an Engineering Manager to join the team at our Production Street facility in Wacol, Brisbane. The primarily responsibility of this role is to optimise the processing of current machinery which enables automation, robotics and integration of high-paced Snacking Lines. The role will create standard work and program automation processes to optimise goal setting, estimation, scheduling, option identification, document processes and outcomes, as well as technical support.
This is a hands-on position which ensures the availability of the plant and equipment through the technical supervision and support of maintenance teams, equipment suppliers and operations team.
Responsibilities include:
- Maintains and reports the status of equipment regarding OEE, preventive maintenance, and operational status for all Snacking Manufacturing Lines
- Oversees automation, integration and robotic projects related to improving equipment performance including root causes, corrective and preventive actions
- Assess the performance of equipment and the capability to meet the demands of the snacking category
- Manage all related Service Level Agreements pertaining to Snacking
- Partner with the Manufacturing leadership team and engage in day-to-day operations related to manufacturing performance
- Monitor progress of all project milestones relating to installation, SAT, Dry commissioning and Production testing.
- Provide leadership to guide and coach teams to completion of the Project timelines
- Establish and maintain Snacking Lines performance metrics
- Work with manufacturing to decrease non-conformances and continuously improve work processes
- Adheres to all safety regulations and Machinery recommended service intervals
- Demonstrates support of Operational Excellence core values
- Overseeing the Service Level Agreement with Columbit and Select Equip
About you:
- Extensive electrical and mechanical technical background in FMCG.
- PLC and processor-controlled systems knowledge and programming skills.
- Thermoformer, tray sealer, dicer and slicer operational and maintenance knowledge.
- Experience in maintenance supervision or management
- The ability to plan, organise and control maintenance activities to optimise the use of available resources
- A thorough understanding of maintenance work management practices
- Knowledge and SAP skills for PM system.
- Good computer skills
- Proven ability to lead, manage and motivate staff
- The ability to lead and motivate people to continuously improve
- Understanding of maintenance work planning and scheduling procedures
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills
