About the Role

We have an exciting, newly created role available for a high performing Employee Experience Manager, directly reporting to our Group Manager Workforce Capability. This role will align with our vision of becoming the best managed and most respected company in our industry while providing the opportunity of a better future for our team members. The objective of this role is to support around 20 production locations across Australia and New Zealand in creating an engaging new team member experience starting from day one. The primary focus will be to provide the best orientation and onboarding experience for our new team members through effective integration into our culture and premier on the job training. The successful applicant will be a visionary leader with exceptional communication skills and ideally come from a production/manufacturing environment with a proven track record of executing successful training programs.  This position will take on a critical role within our Learning and Development Function and there will be a requirement for frequent travel to our sites (approximate travel 75%). We are flexible on location and we'll consider applicants from Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Improve and ensure implementation of a standardized orientation program throughout all JBS’s production facilities across Australia and New Zealand.
  • Facilitate and produce virtual training for orientation trainers and others interested in advancing their training skills.
  • Ensure continuous improvement of orientation programs.
  • Actively make recommendations on orientation and onboarding enhancements and use of new technology to enhance the employee experience.
  • Enhancing employee skills by creating and maintaining job skill assessments for production facilities.
  • Routinely identify and audit facilities for current and future training needs through job analysis, career paths, annual audits and consultation with relevant HR stakeholders.
  • Promote root cause analysis and creation of action plans that drive results on key metrics.
  • Review weekly KPIs that further the company vision and strategy to include retention, turnover and employee engagement.
  • Deploy a wide variety of training methods, that best fit the needs of the facility.
  • Standardize, implement and support 60-day Onboarding Program to JBS’s production facilities.
  • Facilitate and produce in-person and virtual training for onboarding coordinators and onboarding supervisors.
  • Participate in professional development sessions, conferences, and seminars.
  • Manage travel budget.
  • Provide opportunities for ongoing development of onboarding team through a variety of methods.
  • Create rotation schedule for visits to facilities, that will meet the need of the team to include working multiple shifts, changing weeks, or days planned for visit.
  • Conduct close-out meetings with plant leadership after visit has been completed to ensure communication of program status, updates, and needs as well as any additional leadership involvement necessary to ensure the success of the program. 
  • Promote communication and partnership between onboarding and operational team.
  • Ability to diagnose problems, develop innovative solutions and assist team with implementing to prevent future occurrences.
  • Promote safety, quality and company culture on and off the production floor.

 

Qualifications, Skills and Competencies

  • A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience is required. 
  • A background in Behavioural Science and/or Organisational Behaviour is preferred.
  • Proven work experience on training processes and executing successful training programs.
  • Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods (mentoring, coaching, on-the-job or in classroom facilitation, e-learning, workshops, simulations, etc).
  • General meat processing industry knowledge.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Strategic vision able to see and communicate the big picture in an inspiring way.
  • Ability to plan, multi-task and manage time effectively.
  • Strong writing and administrative skills.
  • Excellent computer skills including proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
