Electrical Maintenance Supervisor
Keeping production running safely and reliably depends on strong electrical leadership on the plant floor. Primo is seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Supervisor to oversee day‑to‑day electrical maintenance activities at our Wacol site. This hands‑on role is ideal for a practical, people‑focused leader who enjoys problem‑solving, supporting operations, and driving continuous improvement in a fast‑moving food manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily electrical maintenance activities to ensure availability and reliability of plant and equipment
- Lead, coach, and monitor performance of electrical trades teams, ensuring appropriate manning levels
- Liaise closely with Operations, Production Planners, and Maintenance stakeholders to align priorities and minimise downtime
- Ensure prompt response to electrical breakdowns, urgent works, fault finding, and repairs
- Monitor, analyse, and report electrical maintenance performance and downtime
- Investigate root causes of equipment issues and implement sustainable engineering solutions
- Perform hands‑on electrical maintenance, diagnostics, system resets, and repairs across production and packaging lines
- Maintain and troubleshoot power distribution systems, PLCs, control systems, instrumentation, and VSDs
- Manage allocated electrical maintenance and engineering projects from planning through to completion
- Ensure follow‑up and completion of work carried over from previous shifts
- Ensure accurate completion and return of work orders, permits, and maintenance documentation
- Uphold WHS requirements, electrical safety standards, LOTO procedures, and Primo policies
- Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities to enhance safety, reliability, and plant performance
About You
You’re a capable leader who combines strong technical knowledge with a collaborative, safety‑first approach.
- Current QLD Electrical Licence
- Proven experience in industrial electrical maintenance, preferably within FMCG or food manufacturing
- Strong working knowledge of PLCs, HMI/SCADA, VSDs, power distribution, and instrumentation
- Understanding of GMP, HACCP, and hygienic engineering principles
- Demonstrated people leadership and stakeholder engagement skills
- Proactive, solutions‑focused mindset with strong communication and problem‑solving ability
