We are seeking a Cyber Security Analyst to play a key role in strengthening and continually improving our cyber security posture across the organisation.This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on cyber security professional who enjoys operational ownership, working with modern security platforms, and contributing to measurable improvements in security maturity.

 

About the Role

 

Reporting to the IT Infrastructure Manager, the Cyber Security Analyst is responsible for the operational management, monitoring and continual improvement of JBS Australia’s cyber security technologies and controls. You will work closely with the broader IT Infrastructure team to ensure security platforms are effective, well‑tuned and aligned with business risk and compliance requirements, with a strong focus on uplift against the NIST Cyber Security Framework.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Operational management and monitoring of cyber security technologies including CrowdStrike, Microsoft security platforms, Proofpoint, Commvault and Endpoint Central

  • Continuous improvement of cyber security controls and maturity in line with the NIST framework

  • Threat monitoring, detection and response to ensure alerts and suspicious activity are visible and actionable

  • Enhancement of vulnerability management through dashboards, reporting and clear recommendations

  • Risk management across identity, access and cloud security, including Active Directory, Entra ID, Defender for Cloud, CrowdStrike Identity Threat Protection and CyberArk

  • Ongoing review and risk analysis of backup, recovery and disaster recovery technologies

  • Preparation of monthly leadership reports outlining security posture, incidents, improvements and recommendations

  • Contribution to the development and maintenance of runbooks, incident response and recovery documentation

  • Participation in continuous improvement initiatives.

 

About You

 

You are a proactive and analytical cyber security professional who takes ownership of outcomes and enjoys working in a collaborative team environment. You bring strong communication skills and a practical, risk‑based approach to security. You will have:

  • Experience across IT infrastructure and cyber security operations

  • Understanding of the NIST Cyber Security Framework or similar

  • Familiarity with EDR, email security, identity security, vulnerability management and cloud security tools

  • Hands‑on experience with technologies such as CrowdStrike Falcon, Proofpoint, Microsoft Entra, Conditional Access, Defender for Cloud and Commvault (highly regarded)

  • Strong problem‑solving, analytical and multitasking skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Flexibility to work after hours and travel to sites when required
