Chiller Manager PM

About the Role:

An opportunity for a Chiller Manager has become available for the PM shift at Wacol QDC. The purpose of this role is to ensure the efficient management and allocation of warehouse staff, resources and equipment to achieve the best possible customer outcome in terms of storage, picking and packing of goods.

 

Your responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Manage the finished goods chiller and freezer operations to ensure that all staff members comply with company rules, safety, HACCP, DAWR and Safe Food procedures and processes
  • Monitor stock and capacity levels within the chiller and freezer to ensure we are achieving maximum efficiency and document adjustments as required
  • Identify all data issues within the WMS that effect the pick operation and forward to the Operations Manager
  • Conduct a dock, chiller and freezer floor walk at the start and end of each shift
  • Completion of End of Shift reports and other daily reports
  • Maintain the warehouse in a clean and tidy condition and report and breakdowns or damage
  • Facilitate Toolbox talks and mentor Supervisors to facilitate sessions
  • Monitor the safe use of all equipment and maintain the RF Guns and Thermometer Register so all inventory can be traced and is available for use
  • Report any damages or breakdowns in a timely manner and be actively involved in regular area inspections and internal/external audits
  • Manage the labour resources, overtime requirements and all floor staff discipline issues
  • Ensure all procedures are followed and reports are executed
  • Investigate all inventory discrepancies and credit claims thoroughly

 

About you:

  • Previous experience in similar role(s) in a multi-site, complex, FMCG environment
  • Experience supervising a complex warehouse or team with particular expertise in cold environments
  • Understanding of the transport industry and appropriate legislation and safety concerns
  • Forklift Licence               
  • Strong abilities in managing transport & distribution (Logistic & Storage Management) process
  • Good materials handling, distribution of goods, delivery performance and production management abilities
  • Highly flexible to new ideas and changes
  • Profiicent use of DC systems, and MS Office Suite 
  • Sound knowledge of compliances, regulations, processes and quality controls including, order release, HACCP, DAWR & Safefood
  • Strong relationship management skills
