About the Role
Primo Foods have a new opportunity for an Automation Technician to join the team in Wacol at our Production Street facility. The primary responsibility of this role is to optimize the processing of current and future machinery which enables automation, robotics and the integration of the high paced Snacking Lines.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Create standard work and program automation processes to optimise goal setting, estimation, scheduling, option identification, document processes and outcomes.
- Assess the performance of equipment and the capability to meet the demands of the snacking category
- Partner with the manufacturing leadership team and engage in day-to-day operations related to manufacturing performance
- Undertake emergency troubleshooting on electrical, mechanical and pneumatic equipment to determine problems associated with the machines
- Provide technical assistance for automation, integration and robotic projects related to improving equipment performance including root causes, corrective and preventive actions
- Work with manufacturing to decrease non-conformances and continuously improve work processes
- Establish and maintain Snacking Lines performance metrics
- Maintain and report the status of equipment regarding OEE, preventive maintenance, and operational status for all Snacking Manufacturing Lines
- Provide regular system operation training on automated systems to maintenance and operations personnel
About you:
- Formal Trade qualifications as A Grade Electrician, tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering stream or similar
- Extensive Electrical and Mechanical Technical back ground in FMCG.
- PLC and processor-controlled systems knowledge and programming skills.
- Hands-on experience working with, VSDs, Robotic systems, Ethernet communication
- Thermoformer, tray sealer, dicer and slicer operational and maintenance knowledge desirable
- Experience in maintenance supervision or management in a fast-moving food manufacturing environment desirable
- Good computer skills; Microsoft office, CAD, networking, etc.
- Flexibility and availability to work day and afternoon shifts and help with call backs when necessary
- Availability to work weekends as required.
- Able to work in cold room environment
