Assistant Accountant

About the Role:
Join JBS Australia’s DR Johnston Group team as an Assistant Accountant, where you’ll play a key role in administering the business financial data to ensure compliance with reporting schedules and standards. This position is critical to maintaining the financial records and supporting ongoing audits across the Trading Group that involves both domestic and export business units.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with site and remote team members, ensuring effective audit and financial process alignment.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and all applicable SOX regulations.
• Assist with coordination of month end closing processes, preparing journals and account reconciliations.
• Attend to various reconciliations including freight and support the company’s new PO system.
• Complete ad hoc reporting and other finance tasks as required.
• Backup for AP/AR function.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

• Relevant tertiary study in Accounting/Commerce.
• Recent graduate with couple of years’ experience acceptable as well.
• Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to support remote teams.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Exceptional time management and organisational capabilities.
