About the role:

A fantastic opportunity currently exists for an experienced individual with enthusiasm, drive and commitment to join the Senior Townsville team in the role as an Assistant Plant Manager.  Our Townsville Processing facility is located in Stuart, 12 kilometres south of Townsville. We are seeking a passionate and energetic individual who is committed to providing an effective professional service.


Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): 

    • You will be responsible to assist with all aspects of the day to day management of the plant.
    • Contribute to the achievement of planned throughput on a daily basis including product, revenue and yield maximisation. 
    • Control operational costs and continue to look for improvements throughout the plant/ Business. 
    • Lead, organise and provide guidance to supervisory staff to ensure maximum production efficiencies.
    • Ensure all food safety and employee standards are achieved. 
    • Negotiate with all the stake holders to ensure internal and external customer requirements are achieved.
    • Ensure compliance with all JBS policies & procedures & AQIS requirements at all times. 


About you:

    • Extensive experience in a food manufacturing.
    • Must have min 5 years’ experience in supervisory role in meat processing facility.
    • Highly developed planning, organisational, leadership and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to analyse production performance results with a view to identifying and implementing continuous improvement, strategies across the plant.
    • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to coach others to achieve objectives.
    • Demonstrated ability to lead a team at all levels of management and employees.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of relevant legislation, business practices, policies and procedures as they relate to a meat processing facility.
