About the Role

We’re seeking a Technical Trainer to join our maintenance team and to work across both our sites in Chullora, Sydney and Wacol, Brisbane.

This is an exciting new role with the potential to build something extraordinary. Primo is embarking on the development of a dedicated training facility focused on factory specific equipment training aimed at maintenance and operational staff. The role will encompass the development and management of the apprentice training program, graduate training and maintenance technician skills development. The role will focus on delivering training in-line with our training matrix to remain compliant.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivery of training programs
  • Coordinate external training with OEM suppliers
  • Oversee our state-of-the-art training centre 
  • Deliver training, advice and guidance to students throughout their learning experience
  • Facilitate and/or delivery of training by using a variety of methods (classroom, virtual, on-the-job, e-Learning and general discussions)
  • Conduct skills assessments for maintenance and operational teams
  • Identify areas for improvement and advise recommended changes to Training Lead
  • Work with Primo WH&S and FSQA department to follow standards and quality assurance practices
• Student coordination and support
  • Develop apprentice training program, working with RTO’s and internal trades to ensure full development of trade skills for apprentices
  • First point of contact for apprentices and university graduates
  • Support students to understand expectations
  • Help students to learn and develop skills
  • Identify learning needs
  • Ensure students are supervised and safe at all times
• General administration
  • Tracking progress of students via Learning Management System
  • Assist in scheduling training and assessment of students based on site requirements
  • Check accuracy of paperwork and ensuring student requirements are met
  • Review and update task descriptions and task assessments

About you:

• Self-motivated and passionate about development and upskilling of the team
• Ability to support others and encourage learning
• Responds calmly in difficult situations maintaining a strong customer service focus
• Ability to consider other's perspective's
• Computer literacy MS Word and Outlook
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is required to undertake this position
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and also within a team environment
• Must be passionate and willing to consider continuous improvement opportunities
• Ability to partner with site staff and support learning and development practices
• Sees an opportunity and acts in the best interest of all stakeholders
• Demonstrated ability to work within organisational and ASQA guidelines, policies and legislation
• Make self fully available as required
