About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Health and Safety Coordinator to join our Northern Operations head office team, located at Riverview, Ipswich. This newly created role is key to driving and embedding the JBS culture of excellence, where hard work, collaboration and continuous improvement underpin our success.

 

As a trusted advisor, you will provide practical health and safety support across our Northern Plants, working closely with site teams to monitor and maintain compliance with legislation, JBS WHS systems and industry best practice. You will also assist with the implementation of JBS training requirements, helping to ensure safe, sustainable and high-performing operations.

 

Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Develop, implement and maintain WHS Systems audit schedule for Northern Plants
  • Participate in and assist with WHS audits (internal and external)
  • Assist with monitoring and close out of corrective actions
  • As required and in collaboration with site teams, conduct inspections and injury investigations
  • Provide support and assistance as required to site H&S team members
  • Working with sites, ensure emergency response plans are in place, scenarios are tested and any findings are captured and acted upon
  • Provide support to sites in the review, maintenance and implementation of H&S and role specific training needs
  • Support site H&S teams as required
  • Engage site teams in risk assessments as required
  • Carry out functions as directed by the GM Operations Northern and/or Safety Manager Northern Operations

 

About You

  • Degree/Diploma qualified in WHS or related field
  • Experience in basic WHS function (i.e. incident investigations and risk assessments)
  • Demonstrated computer literacy in excel, word and outlook
  • Ability to respond calmly in difficult situations maintaining a strong customer service focus
  • Ability to prioritise and multi-task
  • Attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously as well as within a team environment
  • Takes other's perspective's into consideration
  • Energetic, passionate and enthusiastic with a demonstrated focus on system improvement
  • Ability to travel to sites across QLD and NSW
