About the Role

Due to the ongoing growth of the JBS Northern Division, we are currently recruiting an experienced Wagyu Livestock Coordinator to join the Livestock team in a newly created position. Working closely with the Manager Feedlots Livestock, the Wagyu Livestock Coordinator will be responsible for planning the receival, induction, movement and exit of all Wagyu cattle that enter the JBS Feedlots. The Wagyu Livestock Coordinator will liaise with key stakeholders across the Wagyu supply chain, as well as ensure an effective and efficient Wagyu program by working closely with JBS’ geneticist to ensure the correct genetics are being used throughout the vendor supply group, whilst also looking for improvement opportunities.

 

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Drafting and despatching cattle to process as per weekly exit programs ensuring that all cattle meet the required specifications
  • Developing and implementing strategic plans by providing insights and recommendations based on your understanding of the market, and stakeholder needs and interests
  • Supporting boning room leaders in the processing facility during Wagyu processing to ensure correct customer specifications are met
  • Planning and organising logistics for cattle exits and entries
  • Planning and organising the movement of cattle from the vendor supply chain to the Feedlot
  • Ensuring all cattle consigned to the Feedlot are inducted within the required timeframe to ensure animal health and welfare
  • Ensuring the accurate completion and submission of documentation for cattle movements in and out of the Feedlot
  • Ensuring the accurate completion and submission of all daily livestock records detailing movements and inductions
  • Ensuring commitment to quality assurance, animal welfare, environmental and work health safety principles
  • Communicating and working closely with the vendor supply group
  • Ensuring overall effective management of the wagyu program from cattle purchase to customer receival
  • Communicating with and working closely with AMI Wagyu Sales Team
  • Coordinating Wagyu producer field days and plant/feedlot/AMI visits
  • Attending Wagyu productions as requested to aid with customer visits, QA issues, sales support etc

 

Due to the travel requirements of this role, the position can be based in either QLD or NSW.

 

About You

  • Extensive experience in the beef/livestock industry (ideally 10+ years)
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships with diverse groups of people including both internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to ensure information is accurately communicated with all levels of management and company vendors
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to identify problems, evaluate alternatives and propose practical solutions
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise responsibilities and meet deadlines
  • Ability to effectively manage a budget and understand business planning and profit & loss
  • Ability to work effectively in cross business unit teams and facilitate collaboration amongst team members with diverse backgrounds and perspectives
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Self-starter with a demonstrated ability to work autonomously as well as within a team environment
  • Energetic, passionate and enthusiastic with a demonstrated focus on continuous improvement
