About the Role

The Senior WHS Officer will contribute to the development of a culture that promotes the wellbeing & safety of all staff through appropriate WHS.  You will be required to work as a collaborative member of the broader JBS and Primo Risk Team.  You are also responsible for partnering with the site leadership team to implement Primo risk initiatives to drive best practice.

 

The role’s responsibilities include but not limited to:

 

  • Conduct & follow-through investigations for Injuries, Near Misses or Hazards
  • Ensure WHS Committee meetings are held and attended by nominated personal including management
  • Drive initiatives and actions from the meetings
  • Ensure compliance with the JBS Health and Safety Management System
  • Review any updates to Standards, Codes of Practice, WHS Act and WHS Regulations to ensure site is compliant
  • Participate in internal, external and Stakeholder Audits ensuring site maintains compliance and implement any changes
  • Promote safety culture and awareness
  • Complete Risk Assessments for all plant and machinery on site
  • Complete Standard Operating Procedures for all process, plant and machinery on site
  • Ensure Risk Assessments & Standard Operating Procedures are regularly reviewed for accuracy.

 

About you

  • Preferred formal qualifications in WH&S or HR
  • Knowledge of manufacturing hazards ideally within a food manufacturing environment
  • Experience in risk assessment, incident investigation and injuries 
  • Strong communication skills with an emphasis on excellent listening and interaction skills
  • Good conflict resolution skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Able to work on own initiative and as a team player.
